Office Organization: How to Use the Tool Professional Organizers Love

Many professional organizers don’t leave either home or office without one tool. What is it? Drum roll please…

…The answer is a labelmaker. “Most organizers favorite tool is the electronic labelmaker,” confirms Diane Hatcher, president of Timesavers Professional Organizing Services, Cooper City, Florida (www.timesaversusa.com). “I particularly use a Brother PT65. It’s a portable labelmaker. And almost everybody that sees mine wants one.”

So why the love affair between professional organizers and labelmakers? It’s because of what you can do with this little inexpensive object (which is less clunky and more portable than its fading cousin, the typewriter). Essentially, a labelmaker spits out self-adhesive tape with the words and phrases you type onto its keyboard. (A label printer that attaches to and works in conjunction with your computer would use your computer keyboard as the input device). You can view what you’re inputting on a tiny screen on portable labelmakers, usually an LCD display similar to ones seen on cameras or handheld calculators.

And while label makers are fun gadgets, they’re more than just that. They’re practical and useful devices. For instance, here are several ways Hatcher says you can use a labelmaker in an office setting:

1. Label open shelves for supplies or in a supply cabinet. (e.g. “8 1/2 X 11 paper,” “bond paper,” and “ivory card stock”)

2. Label file folders. (e.g. “Jane Doe” and “travel expenses”)

3. Label edges of notebooks/binders. (e.g. “organizing conference/March 2004″ and “reference information”)

4. Label stacking trays on your desk or elsewhere. (e.g. “incoming,” “outgoing,” and “pending”)

5. Label cupboards and drawers. (e.g. “utensils,” “coffee supplies,” and “property of xyz department” in a shared kitchen/work room.)

By now you probably realize the list of labeling opportunities is endless and not just limited to paper file folders. In fact, if you place a label(such as “projector,” “coffee” or “flip chart markers”)in the designated spot for an item, when that item is checked out or depleted, you’ll quickly know to look for its user or add it to your shopping list.

Pending your labelmaker choice, tape refills come in multiple colors and sizes. For instance, you can have gold writing on a clear background or the popular black writing on a white background. Tape could be a half inch wide or even an inch wide. Prices for tape cartridge refills vary. Label-making devices with a built-in automatic cutter will slice the tape to the appropriate length (versus using handheld scissors). “My labelmaker prints five sizes of type in seven styles on one or two lines,” says Hatcher. “And I can purchase refill tapes in colors such as gold, silver, pink or blue.”

Label-making gadgets usually operate on batteries though AC adapters are sometimes an option too. Some labeling systems use software and a USB cable that connects a labelmaker to your computer. Other systems are portable handheld devices making it easier for you to label at any location in the office.

Manufacturers often call label-making devices different names such as handheld labeling system, electronic labeling system, label printer, handheld labelmaker and electronic labeler. Sizes vary from small handheld devices that you can hold in one hand to large ones about the size of an adding machine. And prices vary starting from $20 to $30 and rising with added features. Look for label-making systems at your nearest office supply retailer. Many other type retailers sell them too. Or do a search with the label-making device terms noted above on the Web. Happy labeling!

Using Google Adsense to Make Money Off Your Website

Many sites on the Internet rely totally upon advertising for their revenue. Some sites advertise to help cover server costs and others advertise to make pure profit. Whatever you need as far as revenue for your website, Google’s Adsense program can help.

We’ve all been to Internet sites loaded with pop-ups and defaced with flashing banner ads that hurt our eyes and tell us that we’ve been selected to win a prize only to click the link and be disappointed. Why do Internet sites advertise this way? It’s because people see the advertisement and some (few) want to click on it because of the promise the advertisement has to offer. These Internet sites hope that a few of their visitors will click the irrelevant ads just so they can make a few cents. The idea of offering website visitors a free prize or a million dollars, may seem like a lucrative way of making money through advertising on a site, but it’s not the most effective way to bring in advertising dollars.

The key to bringing in money through selling advertisement is to remember who your visitors are. If your site is about automobiles, sure a few of your visitors may click that free prize banner at the top of your page, but chances are not enough people are going to click it for you to make any real good money. Instead, you should focus all your advertisement to be on the subject of automobiles. Perhaps offer advertisement on your website dealing with automobile parts or automobile auctions. By targeting your advertisement to appeal to your average website visitor, your odds of having that visitor click the advertisement on your site goes up.

So just exactly how do you easily find partners to sell advertising to that relates to your website’s content? Sure, you could wait around for some automobile parts manufacture to email you and tell you that they’re interested in advertising on your automobile website, but there’s no guarantee that will happen. Instead, the answer is Google Adsense. By pasting Google’s Adsense code on your Internet site, Google automatically sends ads to your visitors that relate to your website’s content. When visitors click that advertisement, Google shares the profit with you.

How much can you expect to make using Google’s Adsense program? There’s no way to tell exactly what you will make. Each Internet site is different, therefore revenue will greatly vary. Although Google has not officially told us exactly how they share the revenue with us, it’s been estimated that Google shares 50% of the profit generated off your website.

Setting up a Google Adsense account is simple. You fill in a simple form on their website (adsense.google.com) to create an account for free, paste the code onto your website, and fill out a simple tax form. Finding the right ads to place on your website has never been easier. It’s all automatic once you paste in the code on your website. More and more websites everyday are switching over to Google Adsense for their advertising revenue. More targeted advertising equals more advertisement revenue!

Easy Money

Is it possible to make easy money? I have seen truckloads of pure hype about this subject out there. Still, most people ask themselves these questions probably on a daily basis: Could there be an easier and reliable way to make more money? Could there be a way for me to quit my job and enjoy life as I deserve?

Well, the answer is YES and NO. Many times the opportunities are in front of us and we can’t see them. Other times we choose with our decisions what we get. Everyone is different though. What may seem easy to you, may seem very hard to others. In my opinion there are certain professions or jobs, which require little effort and can help you earn a lot of money comfortably.

How can you define if you are making money easily? How can you tell your friends that your job is easy or hard? That’s up to you! As I told you already everyone has a brain and everyone judges things differently. Bellow I enumerate the qualities that a business or job may have in order for me to categorize it as easy money.

1. You can do it from anywhere in the world.

2. You don’t have to deal with people ‘face to face’ or via a telephone.

3. You don’t need to purchase anything to start.

4. You work only three hours per day or less.

5. Your clients come to you. You don’t have to seek them.

6. You are doing something moral and ethical. People feel happy with you.

7. You are helping others succeed.

8. You can make a lot of money (thousands of dollars per week).

9. Other people do all the selling for you. You only pay them a small commission for each sale they generate.

10. You don’t have to work every day. You choose your own schedule.

11. You don’t have to organize merchandise within a room.

12. You don’t have to physically deliver the products to your clients.

13. Other people could create the products and services for you, so you don’t have to do that either.

14. Other people take care of your marketing campaign for free, so you don’t have to pay them.

15. You don’t have to rent real estate for business related purposes.

16. Since the beginning your duties are just to make sure that everything is running smoothly.

17. You can start with almost no money at all.

Now, do you agree with me that such a business could make you easy money? The problem is most people don’t believe that such a business could really exist. Let me tell you that they are far from the truth. Remember that everything is easier on the Internet. There is no reason to make it complex. Starting your own online business is one of the best decisions you could make in your life!

PH Levels in The Discus Tank

Because it is imperative that discus fish have optimal water conditions, much has been written about this subject, This is the plan put in place to insure proper PH water levels in our hatchery.

Allnut Enterprises’ breeder, Nick Lockhart of Noblesville, Indiana, has many ingenious ideas as to how to accomplish things in the hatchery. We begin our experiment with two matched pairs: two red melons, and two leopardskins. They are lovely, friendly fish, and have been getting acclimated to our tanks and the aquarist since the end of June.

Initially, we begin to prepare for the new arrivals by setting up the tanks in this manner: water was tested for PH and nitrite levels, and a proper ecosystem for active bacteria was begin by populating the tank with cichlids that Nick has been raising prior to the purchase of the discus. When we felt that the water/bacteria levels were correct, we set up the meeting with the breeder, and made the trip to Bloomington, Indiana.

Upon arrival at home base with a travel time of about an hour and a half, we immediately begin to acclimate the pairs to their new home. We were advised by the breeder to let them acclimate to the new tank water by “floating” the bags containing the fish for approximately one hour to equalize the temperatures, and to add a cup of water to the bag from the tank to equalize PH levels.

We did not, however, follow this procedure. We took approximately six hours to acclimate by adding a cup of the tank water to the bag each hour, and keeping a close eye on the discus and PH levels, because they were stressed from the trip. A Hanna PH digital meter was used for testing, which gave us a very accurate reading. As large changes in PH in a short period can shock the discus, we were careful in this approach. Our water at the time matched the water in PH levels from the breeder closely.

Because the two pair were bought for breeding purposes, Nick was not comfortable with the PH level, which at that time was at approximately 7.5, high for optimal breeding conditions of 6.5-6.9. What to do?

We had read that hanging a mesh bag of peat moss would help to lower the PH, but were not happy with the idea of having debris from the Peat in our tanks, which are kept scrupulously clean. We knew there had to be a better way to accomplish this goal.

Because Nick lives in town, and has city water, he uses a Reverse Osmosis filtering system to insure that the water is free of chemicals and suitable for the aquarium. Knowing that Peat Moss will lower the PH in an aquarium system, and having a large bag left over from making culture for Grindal and White Worms, he took a 5 gallon pail, and drilled a series of holes around the perimeter of the bottom of the pail, using a 3/32″ drill. He then lined the bottom of the pail with a think layer of regular aquarium filter floss, and topped that off with a thick layer of Peat Moss, with the finished pail being about two-thirds full.

The outlet hose from the RO system was then allowed to drain into this pail. Setting the pail over the top of the holding tank, the water slowly drained down through this medium into the holding tank.

Initial test of the recycled water showed a drop in PH to below the base of 7.0. We have been adding the water to the discus tanks slowly through water changes so as to not shock the fish, and at our business meeting this weekend, Nick informed me that the PH levels in the discus tanks are now at approximately 6.6, which is the optimal level for breeding discus.

Cost of the project? If you already are using an RO system, and have a holding tank, you will spend a twenty dollar bill getting the Peat Moss and filter floss. Not bad, considering a breeding pair of dicus can run you $425 dollars!

Surveillance Equipment - The Assurance Of Security

Surveillance equipment usually reminds one of “007″ but with the recent rise in crime rates it is more a necessity than just spy equipment. The surveillance equipment allows you to keep a watch even when you are not physically present at the scene. These are used to monitor the behavior of people (like stealing, harassing etc.) or procedures that do not act desirably. These appliances are thus concealed and obvious.

Since there is always a chance of improper activity in places like shopping malls, public schools, warehouses, parking garages, airport terminals and offices, these places are the ones mostly investing on surveillance equipments. A wide variety of such equipments are available in the market with highly developed technology.

Surveillance equipment mostly combines audio and video data transfer and may range from Internet based equipment and wiretapping phone to biometrics (advanced facial aspect identification computer software).

The recent development of ‘wireless’ technology has its own set of problems. The wireless devices transmit information either by radio waves or infrared light, which can be intercepted. Therefore, such devices are not reliable regarding the transfer of important information.

Surveillance equipment is used to record conversation or acts, but these are possible also on a normal recording machine. Some options are:

• Clandestine miniature devices linked to a small microphone, externally mounted to pick up the audio.

• Digital gadgets like minidisk recorders or the most recent diminutive camcorders are small enough to be carried easily, but produce very high quality recordings.

• The common ones encountered at offices for monitoring staff are usually perched from a ceiling.

• The most advanced ultra-directional microphones, or parabolic microphones can be used to overhear conversations from a hundred meters away or more.

• Extreme clarity is possible only via a laser microphone, which are again, expensive and highly technical to operate.

• Since mobile phones nowadays can record both audio and video, therefore they can be used as surveillance equipments as well.

Surveillance equipments normally emit radio waves, however the more sophisticated ones are not dependant on Radio Waves and are extremely hard to detect. The only way to detect them is by using sensitive gear to seek out magnetic fields, or the common electrical ‘noise’. Another way would be to use sensitive infrared cameras for identifying waste heat of a Surveillance equipment.

Gone are the days of the private eye, now you can get information yourself via these fascinating surveillance equipments. Finally, the best benefit these devices afford is that they are successful in doing away with the incentive to commit crime. Since a person’s inclination to commit crime is decreased once he/she is aware that someone is there to keep an eye on him/her.

First Time Home Buyer

It is wonderful that you have decided to find a new home but it is important to think about some of the considerations that figure in finding the right home for you.

First of all, finding a Realtor who is competent and who can help you negotiate all the pitfalls and complications of the process is of utmost importance. You need to know how your credit standing and financial position affect the different types of financing that are available for you. At this time, shopping for the best financing is going to be one of your most important activities in your successful purchase of a home. You need to find a real estate agent who you trust and who you feel comfortable with. There are many ways to find these Realtors. The most common way is by referral. However, you can find a Realtor in a newspaper or a homes magazine or on the Internet. After you have found the agent you should interview him or her to make sure that you are both in agreement on the type of services you feel you will need to have. They also should provide you with full information about the type of services they will be able to provide.

During the selection process think of as many questions as possible to ask. The more you know from the beginning, the better you will have an opportunity to evaluate the knowledge and skill of the Realtor you are speaking with. If the realtor answers all of your questions satisfactorily, then it is likely that you have found a good match.

Financing is extremely important. Financing affects your monthly payment, and how much of a home , you can afford. Your down payment, employment, income and your credit score are going to be essential ingredients in the final analysis of the type of home you will be able to afford. Do you need a down payment? Is hundred percent financing available? We you be able to move into the home with no cash out of pocket? Are there grants or special programs available? What about your VA eligibility? What types of different programs are offered by different banks? Is the Realtor able to introduce you to more than one lender? Are there any special programs in the area you live in ? These are just a few of the questions you need to ask.

A real estate agent, who is professional can help you to negotiate all of these questions. Once you have narrowed down your options, made a decision about the type of home you’re looking for and at what monthly mortgage payment, and at what financing terms. After these steps have been completed it is time to begin looking for a home. Most Realtors are able to send you listings on a daily basis. This way, as soon as a new property comes on the market, you will know about it as soon as possible and be able to see the property in a timely manner. In this market, even though it is slowing down considerably, it is still important to see the home first. And if you like the home put your offer in as expeditiously as possible.

After you have made a decision about the home you are going to make an offer on you need to ask questions about schools, ease of access to roadways to your work, proximity to shopping centers, and doctors offices, etc. By thoroughly looking around the neighborhood before you make a final decision you will feel more comfortable about putting an offer in and will reduce the probability that you will have surprises later on, that you did not count on.

Bear in mind, a professional Realtor will help you to reduce the time it takes you to find the right home. Saving you money, waste effort, and time are just a few of the benefits a good Realtor can provide. The Realtor, can, if they are a buyer’s agent, negotiate the best deal, and like other agents help you find competent home inspectors, and will be with you every step of the way, to the moment when the keys to your new home are handed to you. I hope this information proves valuable, and I wish you wish you the best with your new home.

Info On the Life and Times of DVD Recording Systems

DVD recorders are diverse from digital video recorders (more usually known as DVRs) in that they record your favourite telly programmes straight on a removable writable disc (more generally known as the DVD) instead of a hard disk. DVDs have lately become an unbelievable good means for collecting computer data because of their high storage facility, consistency, asking price and simplicity.

Like a video cassette recorder (more regularly known simply as a VCR) the DVD recorder has standard Audio and Video inputs & outputs & playback abilities. Digital Versatile Disc Recorders generally acknowledge one of these two, every so often both, nonetheless in practical conditions they are nearly equal. Recordable discs are relatively inexpensive & recordings can be used in approximately every system. DVD recorders with either an analogue and a digital receiver have the capability to hook up to a set top box.

Digital Versatile Disc recorders are enduring a revolution, adding a digital Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) tuner if it has a tuner as permitted by the Federal Communications Commission. Digital Versatile Disc recorders are swiftly winning over from VCRs as the universal way to back up your much-loved TV religious programs & movies. With Digital Versatile Disc recorders you can view regular Digital Versatile Disc’s listen to music Compact Disc’s & play back your taped discs.

A Digital Versatile Disc recorder employs a laser (usually six hundred and fifty nm red) to read & write Digital Versatile Disc’s. The reading laser is by and large not stronger than 5 mW, nevertheless the writing laser is hugely more powerful. DVD recorders when they initially penetrate the shoppers market a number of years ago were quite costly and the run of the mill buyer couldn’t afford to acquire one. Whereas in the last few of years they have radically plummet in price and are nowadays accessible economically to most people. Catch Digital Direct’s savings on Pioneer DVD recorders!

Are You a Business Seller; Do Not Forget to Give Your Customer Their Receipt!

The Federal Trade Commission is proposing new rules for business opportunities sellers and in this new set of proposed rules one of the new stipulations will be that business opportunities sellers must give their customer or a receipt.

Why is the Federal Trade Commission requiring this? Well, there have been cases of fraud where the buyer never got receipt and therefore could not prove that dated been ripped off. Meanwhile, there was no record of the transaction at all, no copy of the signed agreements in many cases and no way to get the buyer’s money back. Sounds pretty shady to be. And this is why or rather this is one of the reasons why the FTC is also among many other new proposed changes requiring that business opportunities sellers give receipts to their customers.

Below is a copy of the proposed rule that the Federal Trade Commission is considering putting into the new regulations, which govern business opportunities sellers. If you are a business opportunities seller within you may wish to contact the Federal Trade Commission with any comments on this proposed rule change if this bothers you in any way.

The way I see it if you are an ethical practitioner this will not bother you, but all the other hand if you are less than ethical or even fraudulent this may cause you to want to leave the business opportunities sector in stop ripping people off. Here’s the excerpt about receipts from the FTC report on the proposed rulemaking changes for business opportunities sellers;

Proposed section 437.3(a)(7): Receipt

“Proposed section 436.3(a)(7) would set forth a receipt requirement. Specifically, the seller must attach a duplicate copy of the basic disclosure page to be signed and dated by the purchaser. A designation for the signature and date is included at the bottom of the page. This requirement is designed to document proper disclosure. The receipt is especially important to prove proper disclosure with respect to electronic documents. A seller furnishing disclosures online, either through email or access to a website, has the burden of establishing that the prospect was actually able to access the electronic document. Completion and submission of the receipt serves that purpose.

The proposed Rule does not impose any particular method of transmitting the receipt. In order to minimize compliance costs, the Commission believes that the parties should have maximum flexibility to determine the best method for their business opportunity. Accordingly, proposed section 437.3(a)(7) would permit the seller to inform the prospective purchaser how to return the signed receipts, for example, by sending the receipt to a street address, or through email address, or facsimile.”

Let’s face it every legitimate business gives a receipt to their customer and every ethical business opportunities seller would do the same because those who are going into business for themselves mean that receipt for tax purposes and for their records and not to give our receipt is unethical. The Federal Trade Commission is proposing that receipts be required, as well they should. We need to get rid of all unethical business opportunities sellers in the United States of America to protect consumer. Consider this in 2006.

Spending More Than You Make

So many people today are looking for something. Something new, something better, something more. The problem isn’t the looking or the wanting. It’s the spending.

So much of the way we live is based on wanting something new or better or larger. The nice, leather furniture, manicured lawn, new cars, boat, two car garage, need to be better than the neighbors and need to fit in with an upper class are hiding the credit cards, auto loans, mortgage, rent-to-own bill and insecurity.

The sad truth of the matter is that none of the things are ours. If it isn’t paid for it doesn’t belong to you. It’s just all appearances. The focus on those appearances often means that things aren’t truly enjoyed or appreciated. And the focus can quickly get you into debt problems. You wanted to be like your neighbors.

Everywhere we turn we are encouraged to borrow money. If you can’t pay for it now, pay for it later. For example, have you shopped in your local home store lately. Chances are if you have, you’ve been told if you spend so much on a major appliance, you will get it interest free for one year on a store card. Every time I go into Old Navy or Gap, they ask if I have a store card. I could save 10% on my first purchase.

The sad thing is that not only are those who can’t really afford what they are buying sucked in, but so are those that have the money they can just pay for it. Then they forget to pay it off and end up paying a really high interest rate later down the road. Society just seems to want us to charge things.

I hear that everyone has debt so you shouldn’t worry about it. Everyone is struggling with it. You couldn’t afford to live without it.

But if you can’t afford to live without it, how can you afford to live with it? If you don’t have the money to cover your basic expenses, you are loosing ground. And debt is like quicksand.

If you aren’t living within your means, you can. Simply make up your mind to quit credit cold turkey. Take those cards and put them in a safety deposit bank in a town at least 30 miles from you. Then you only drive to get them in an emergency.

Work on the basics first. What do you really need? Shelter, food, clothes, transportation and communication. So cut your budget down to only include the housing expenses, food, clothes (this is the washing, not going shopping every day), your frugal car and telephone. You don’t need shopping, eating out or a cellphone for every member of your family.

Take the time now to say you won’t buy unless you need something. Use all of what you have before you replace it. Learn that what you have is good enough.

Make a budget. Stick with it. Believe me, once you are out of debt and not obligated to anyone, you will feel like the freest person in the world. Debt doesn’t give you anything but temporary satisfaction. You get stress and pay more in the long run. Make a decision to spend less than you make, not more.

Welcome to F1 Motorsport Tracks

A familiar race track more often than not compromises of a portion of straight road on which the starting rows are to be found. The pit lane, where the drivers come in for fuel & replace tyres during the motor race, and where the F1 teams work on the Formula One cars previous to the F1 race, is typically positioned in parallel to the starting rows. The plan of the remaining parts of the course varies substantially, even though in countless cases the course is built in a clockwise direction. Those few race courses that go anti-clockwise (C181& as a result have for the most part left-handed corners) could cause grand prix drivers health issues because of the tremendous amount of sideways forces generated by Formula One vehicles dragging their body in the opposite direction to normal. For more information about Formula One visit http://www.f1tribute.com today.

A lot of the race tracks currently in use are personally made for racing contests. The present street tracks are the Circuit of Monte Carlo & Melbourne, though races in other urban locations come and go (E.g. Las Vegas and Detroit) & suggestions for such grand prixs are frequently considered ? in recent times London and Beirut. A few other courses are also completely or partially laid out on normal public roads, like that of Spa-Francorchamps. The allure and love of the Monte Carlo F1 race are the principal cause why the track is still in use these days, since it is thought not to meet the harsh safety conditions imposed on other race courses. Three-time World champion Nelson Piquet notably portrayed racing in Monte Carlo as “like riding a bicycle around your living room”.
